HTC Thunderbolt use touchscreen TFT display 4.3 “with a level of resolution WVGA (480×800) pixels. The screen can produce vivid colors and bright with good contrast levels. But unfortunately the screen does not have good visibility under direct sunlight. The screen becomes dark and difficult to be seen though the backlight feature is used.

Below the screen, there are 4 navigation keys touchscreen with the sensitivity level of the home, menu, back, and search. Then on top of the screen are the LED status indicator flashes green when you get a new message and will be red when you’re charging, then there are also 1.3 megapixel camera. At the top there is the power button / lock and 5.3mm headset jack. On the right there are buttons for adjusting the volume and on the left side there is a microUSB port.

In the back there are 8 megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and a kickstand that comes to use when watching the video but unfortunately the kickstand will cover the speakers when not in use. On the back of the chassis are SIMcard microSDHC memory card slot and a slot.

HTC Thunderbolt using the Android OS 2.2.1 Froyo equipped with the latest version of the user interdace HTC Sense. You can arrange seven homescreens are available by adding icons without having to press the homescreen widgets in a long time simply press the icon at the bottom of the right palette paintbrush beside homescreen. For additional customization, you can choose from 6 different scenes (Verizon, HTC, Social, Work, Play, and Travel) and all scenes have the look of its own layout. Not only that you also can choose 5 skin (HTC, Black Board, Metal, Slate, and Wood) that also will change the appearance of any scenes.

Sense HTC user interface has the ability to handle social networking with application Friend Stream. The application will incorporate content from Facebook and Twitter accounts you. Besides you can read the latest posts from your friends, you even can post your tweets and status simultaneously without the need to run these two applications are separate. In addition, you also can take pictures and upload photos directly to your social networking accounts.

If you love to take photos and record important information about the image, you should try the application that is location-based HTC Footprints app. Basically, this application will show the GPS coordinates of the photos you take and categorized them based on your preferences – such as shopping, dining, recreation, and others.
Unfortunately HTC Thunderbolt for is not currently supported by HTCSense.com website so you can not use the features that are available. But you can download the HTC Sync, which can be used to sync your phone with your computer.
