Nokia N97 mini phone is not much different from the N97 which was released last June. The difference, Mini N97 is slightly smaller and featured a 3.2-inch resistive touch screen, a five megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, GPS satellite navigation system, Wi-Fi wireless networking, and 8 gigabytes of internal memory which can be augmented with external memory via microSD card with a capacity of 16 GB.

Like its predecessor cell phone, mobile phone operating system is run by Symbian OS S60. Nevertheless, the software is updated to improve the shape of a graphical display user interface (UI) like widgets. It also added programs Lifecasting with Ovi that allows users to publish the location, photos, and update status on networking website Facebook.
